Over the years, the approach has evolved from originally using a physical handbook containing details on the agenda items, to creating a mobile application which provides the attendees with a more effective and efficient way to plan their time at the conference.For the initial development, the content in the application was provided by a 3rd party, Rushmore digital, which was then funnelled through Pocket App’s middleware to reflect on the frontend of the application. The following year, we had to adapt the application to accommodate for the new hybrid nature of the conference being a physical and virtual event. We integrated the app with the Conservative Party’s new 3rd party events provider, Platform Group. This required us to re-write our database to mirror Platform Group’s database structure along with re-mapping the front end to accommodate for the prerequisite database changes and present the new appropriate data within the updated application.
