Optime Group Ltd specialises in providing temporary ground staff to several major airports across the UK, focusing on matching the right candidates with suitable roles that align with their skillsets. Their recruitment process is supported by a dedicated in-house team that conducts thorough background checks, ensuring that every employee is fully vetted before onboarding. To further enhance their operational efficiency and streamline processes, Optime Group approached Pocket App to develop a dynamic mobile app.

Our process

Pocket App and Optime Group initiated the discovery phase to kick off the project, focusing on identifying the specific users the app would serve and clarifying its functionality requirements. Optime’s primary need was an interactive job board that would allow candidates to easily access and apply for relevant roles. Their broader ambition was to automate and streamline various established processes, enhancing productivity for both the company and its partners, while creating a more seamless experience for job seekers and employers. After crafting wireframes and prototypes that adhered to Optime’s brand guidelines, Pocket App proceeded to the development phase. The frontend was built using React Native and other JavaScript libraries, while the backend was developed as a bespoke PHP Laravel-based service with an appropriate database and framework structure, ensuring the app could deliver on all the functionalities outlined in the discovery phase.

The results

Pocket App initially released the app through a soft launch, allowing a select group of users to provide valuable feedback on the user experience and enabling the team to thoroughly assess the app’s functionality. This phase was critical in identifying any areas for improvement before a wider release. After the soft launch proved successful, the app was made publicly available. While anyone can download the app, only users who are pre-registered through the CMS are able to log in and access the app’s full suite of features. This ensures that only verified users benefit from the app’s functionalities. Pocket App continues to work closely with Optime as a long-term partner, regularly collaborating on improvements, rolling out updates, and introducing new features to enhance the overall user experience and optimize the app’s performance. This ongoing partnership ensures that the app remains a dynamic, evolving solution tailored to the needs of both Optime and its users.
