Kicking off the Euro’s 2016 – hedge your bets with our top five apps

The UEFA European Championship is almost upon us; one of the most popular events in the football world, second in scale only to the World Cup. Kick off on the 10th June will see football fans from 24 countries pitching in to stand behind their home nation, so brace yourself for barbecues with the neighbours, nights in the pub, and of course, no shortage of opportunities to place a bet.

With less than one month to go until the Euro’s begin, at Pocket App, we felt it was time to discuss the tournament favourites. Germany are the favourites to win this tournament for the first time since 1996, but can they add this trophy to the World Cup they won in Brazil? Hosts, France, have a squad full of young, vibrant players. Can they go all the way on home soil, just as their predecessors did at the 1998 World Cup? Defending champions, Spain, are chasing their third straight Euro win, but maybe none of the above will take home the trophy? Could Belgium or England challenge? Or maybe a dark horse such as Austria or Croatia? At Pocket App, we will certainly be hedging our bets.

But, while the novelty of a trip to the bookies to bet on your home team might be appealing for an event like the Euro’s, with over 83 million mobile handsets today in the UK alone, it should come as no surprise that a vast number of Britons will be making a mobile wager in June. What’s more, with 24 teams competing to be named Europe’s number one, we are guaranteed plenty of nail-biting games.

At Pocket App, having a wager on which country will be taking home the trophy is an important part of proceedings. However, while the debate rages in the office about which team is most likely to win, a second discussion is taking place just as intensely – which app should we be using to actually place our bets? Which has the best odds, the best user experience or the best updates and tips?

After much heated debate, we came up with our top five apps which we think are the best to bet on the Euro’s.

1BetVictor
Formerly known as VCbet, BetVictor is without question one of the best apps out there for betting on football. Available on both iOS and Android, BetVictor is compatible with both mobile and tablet, detecting and adjusting to the device upon which is it being run. Not only is it therefore incredibly accessible, players are also given a £50 matched free bet bonus upon signing up. With a slick design and comfortable interface, BetVictor is designed with sports gambling as a priority, but also allows users to play casino games. A great all-rounder if you are looking to make a regular bet, highly recommended.

2Bet365
Regarded by many as one of the best gambling apps available, Bet365 has earned itself a large following and definitely receives our seal of approval. The app is hugely popular because of its intuitive design and helpful forum, guiding players and ensuring that they are clear and comfortable with the bets that they are placing. As a result, it is particularly popular with new or infrequent gamblers, but the additional assistance on offer may prove a little long-winded for the seasoned gambling pro. Perfect if you are a new player or are planning to bet just on the occasional match.

3SkyBet
As the broadcaster of some of the best football on TV, you might expect Sky to also offer a first-rate app via which you can bet on the most important games. You would be correct, as SkyBet provides a smooth experience and solid platform that is as comprehensive as it is efficiently designed, if perhaps a little less visually exciting than some of the other offerings on the market. Skybet is made even more enticing by offering frequent promotions, such as a gift of £20 on a new player’s first bet of £5, making it a regular favourite.

4Ladbrokes
Ladbrokes has earned itself a reputation as a betting app that you can’t go wrong with; an experienced organisation and a true veteran of the mobile gambling industry. Offering live betting on dozens of different sports, including a vast range of football matches and tournaments, there is something for everyone. Secure, cleanly designed and with regular offers that you will struggle to match elsewhere, such as a £50 free bet to all new players upon registration, Ladbrokes has  firmly cemented itself as a favourite for regular gamblers. Definitely one to bear in mind if you fancy your chances in the Euro’s.

5William Hill
This high street bookies’ needs no introduction. As one of the most recognisable gambling organisations in business today, William Hill is guaranteed to be covering the Euro’s in a big way, with an app that boasts all of the professionalism you would expect from such a prestigious company. Well designed, easily accessible for players of all levels and with plenty of appealing offers to keep you hooked, you will be hard-pressed to find anything in the sporting world that doesn’t fall onto William Hill’s radar. A safe bet if you are looking for a reliable and professional app.

Whether you’re a regular better or a bit of a  novice, we are confident that the wide selection of apps available today is able to cater for all, ensuring that you are all set when the Euro’s kick off on 10th June.

So whichever team is your favourite to win, and for those of us who fancy a flutter, and let’s face it there are more betting markets for this summer’s big sporting event than you can shake a stick at, hopefully our five best apps will give you the odds you are looking for. From top goalscorer to player of the tournament, they’ll help you work out who the bookies are tipping to do well!

Have fun!
