Dechra sought to create an innovative mobile app for pet owners to help them track their pets’ weight and develop customized weight loss plans. They enlisted Pocket App to design, develop, and launch the app, which promotes the SPECIFIC nutrition range by providing personalized product recommendations. In addition to tracking progress, the app connects users with their vets, streamlining the entire weight management process for pets.

Our process

Pocket App delivered a comprehensive Dechra CMS with key features including vet invite and management, CMS user management, and top-level analytics on anonymised user data, providing administrative control and insights to optimise app performance. In alignment with the interactive Vet CMS prototype, Pocket App also developed the Vet CMS and established APIs to enable seamless data exchange between the Mobile App, Dechra CMS, and Vet CMS. Additionally, Pocket App deployed the backend infrastructure on Dechra’s existing cloud services for both UAT and production environments, ensuring a scalable and secure platform. To enhance functionality, Pocket App integrated third-party solutions for push notifications and transactional emails, leveraging Dechra’s existing accounts to streamline communication and improve user engagement.

The results

The app was initially soft launched in the UK and Poland, with gradual rollouts to additional markets as new languages were implemented. Currently, it is live in the UK, Poland, Netherlands, and Denmark, providing pet owners and vets in these regions with a powerful tool for tracking pet weight and health. As part of its continued expansion, the app will soon be available in Finland, Norway, and Sweden, making it accessible to a broader audience and ensuring a consistent experience across multiple languages. This phased rollout has allowed for iterative improvements, ensuring the app’s performance and user experience are optimized in each new market. Pocket App continue to work with Dechra, facilitating improvements to the app and building upon new opportunities.
