Pocket App wins the 2021 UK App of the Year Award

What a night that was for Pocket App at the 2021 UK App Awards! Our work on the My Footprint app for WWF-UK and in collaboration with creative agency Rufus Leonard has been celebrated with multiple accolades. We went home with the award in all the categories the app was shortlisted in, making it 4 wins: UK App of the Year, Best Design/UX, Education App of the Year and Best New App of the Year.

The UK App Awards reward excellence in apps developed for the UK market, recognising exceptional design and UX in a range of verticals. This year, the competition was exceptional with winners in other categories including HSBC, Domino’s Pizza and PureGym.

My Footprint is a challenge-based app aiming to engage the nation through tangible action and social sharing. It offers a variety of challenges across different topics and effort levels, all geared to gamifying the creation of new habits that are practical for all the family. The content is underpinned by storytelling and relevant articles that shows the impact WWF is having and the part users are playing. Social sharing is encouraged to help amplify the message and galvanise a movement. With more than 80k downloads and 110k challenges completed to date, the app is achieving its goals and building momentum to bend the 2030 climate curve.
